Can Asterisk ring all the phones in a small office, a person picks up on one phone and then puts it on hold to pick up on a different phone?
Also can Asterisk do intercom paging through phone speakers?
Thanks…

Hi
I beleive you were refering to call transfer on to another station, or call parking. yes, asterisk can do it.

I realize that transfer and park are available. I was hoping for something simpler like a one button hold/pickup which could be used on multiline button phones.
All the phones ring, pick up and then put on hold, all lines blink and anyone can pickup. As a matter of fact an inside conference call can be made by pressing the busy line button.
I think asterisk needs this simple ability to succeed in the small switch market.
Asterisk is already succeeding in several switch markets.
Multi-line telephones are old technology. Sometimes, change is a good thing.
You could setup an extension that rings every phone using the format below, you would just transfer the call to this extension.
exten => 123,1,SetCIDName(RingEverybody)
exten => 123,2,Dial(SIP/phone1&SIP/phone2&SIP/phone3)
Polycom phones support a paging / intercom feature.
The Soundpoint IP 300 does paging only, as it does not have a speakerphone mic.

Your points are arguable. I am just looking for a specific solution for plumbers, construction and general contractors.
