Is dahdi required for asterisk installation for timing etc?

I’m not using or planning on using any dahdi hardware in this system.

It should not be needed with recent versions. It is needed for meetme, but for the actual conference bridge. Other conferencing applications don’t need it.

Also the 2.6 linux kernels provide timing resources now.
Else Dahdi was required to have a timing resource now the kernel can handle that too.
