DPMA Installation Issues

Hello Everyone,

I am running Asterisk version 1.8.28.2 and I have been experiencing difficulties when trying to install the DPMA module. I followed the steps outlined on https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/DIGIUM/DPMA+Installation and so far I was able to get the license Key but when I try to install the modules available on http://downloads.digium.com/pub/telephony/res_digium_phone/asterisk-1.8.11/x86-64/ ( I am running 1.8.28.2) I get an error message saying “undefined symbol: ast_msg_tech_register” on versions 1.2.0 and later and with versions 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 the Asterisk service just keeps crashing once the module is loaded. Just so you know, upgrading the Asterisk/FreePBX version is not a viable option for me. I hope you guys can assist me with this.

No assistance can be provided. DPMA depends on things existing in Asterisk that don’t exist in mainline 1.8.28; they only existed in the 1.8-cert branch of Asterisk. As well, all of 1.8 went EOL in 2015. No one’s done any testing of DPMA or phones against 1.8-based versions in many moon.
