Can I setuo Asterisk 1.8 on Windows OS PC? Can it run smoothly as Linux? Can we use such in working environment?

No, you can’t use Asterisk on Windows.

Use it on Linux. You will see it is not so hard as it looks :wink:

If you want a more user friendly way to start, go with Elastix or some other similar distribution that offers Asterisk and FreePBX. You can advanced to pure Asterisk (no GUI) if you are interested from there.
