Transfer problem when originating call

When I get a call incomming I can press # to start the transfer to another exten or to parking.
But if I dial out, then I am unable to use the # key, it just plays the DTMF tone and no transfer.
I have t and T in the dialplan for this line.
I am running through a PAP2 if that is anything.
I can post relevent conf files if required.

any ideas?

yee, post the relevant parts of your dialplan. and what build are you using ?
