Specification: with Asterisk, Cisco IP Phones, Panasonic PBX

I’m trying to design a specification for an organization that already has the following:

  1. Cisco 7940 IP Phones (they are just in storage)
  2. Panasonic PBX (KX-something I think)
  3. Ethernet Network

I need help understanding physically how I’ll connect the Asterisk Server with the PBX. I’ll be using a TDM2406E in the server.

Also will an additional plug-in card need to be bought for the Panasonic PBX?

Any help is much appreciated.

If the PBX has the capability for SIP then that would be the easiest. If not you will want to connect the two box’s over a “T1 trunk”.
