Shared Data / Voice T1

I swear I remember seeing a HOWTO on setting up Asterisk to take a single T1 and have it split between both voice and data, but have the number of channels dedicated to voice change dynamically based on how many active calls there were. So as each call was placed another channel would move to voice instead of data. Did I imagine this HOWTO? Is what I’m describing even remotely possible?

Did you check the Wiki (voip-info.org)? Would be interested if you find how to do this with Asterisk.
