Same line input and output

Good afternoon,

I installed Asterisk on a server and want to know if there is any way to set it up so you can use the same input line as one of the outputs.

Can you clarify what you mean by “input line”? Are you referring to a phone line, VoIP trunk, or something else?

Hello,

I want to put one mobile phone line. I was reading and I know that I can put the same line for input and output with type=friend, but I don’t know if it is possible with GSM network.

For a GSM device I would only expect 1 simultaneous call per SIM card.

The objective of this is to can decrease the call volume of this number. Other possibility is one phone with 2 sims.

I’ m not very sure now. I`m evaluating all the possibilities because is the first time that I’m using Asterisk

type=friend doesn’t really do that, and, in most cases type=peer is better even when you use the line in different directions at different times, or have multiple simultaneous calls on it.
