Reach Operator (0) From Inside The Company Directory

Hi All- I’m trying to make our Asterisk @ Home 1.5 implementation allow us zero out to the operator from inside the company directory (but not yet in an endusers voicemail box) and it’s doesn’t seem to want to work. I’ve read somewhere to add operator=yes to the end of each voicemailbox definition in voicemail.conf which is supposed to allow the zero out from inside the voicemail box itself but I can’t seem to find that last step from the directory. Before you post configuration files you should understand that the configuration files display passwords in plain text. I really hope the phone number listed on firstwave.net/Misc/Contact.cfm is not going into Asterisk. Please edit your post.

The operator feature requires a couple of different things.

  1. Operator=yes in your voicemail.conf. Put it under the general settings if you do not feel like configuring it for evey mailbox.

  2. Review=yes in your voicemail.conf (same advice on general settings)

  3. You must have an o (as in oh) extension in extensions.conf
