How to pause (page) CLI output

Hello All:
I know this is a basic question but running Asterisk Asterisk 1.6.2.9-2+squeeze1 (Debian) and want to know if there is a way to pause the CLI when a lot of output is generated and scrolls for multiple screens, (example sip show peers). The same way you can use |more or |less with a shell command.
Thank you,
Darryl

Use more (you will need to run asterisk -r with the command on the command line, rather than interactively).

Also note that Linux consoles can be paged back a significant distance by using alt-page up and alt-page down.

Most terminal emulators can be configured to maintain a history, as well.
