GUI Interface for Configuration of Asterisk

Hello NG

On my Suse 10 Server I installed Asterisk 1.4.0 Beta 2. Now I would like to configure Asterisk through a GUI Interface. Does exist a GUI which is possible to configure Asterisk?

Thanks in advance for your help.

go to voip-info.org (as directed by the sticky at the top of the forum !!!) and search for “Asterisk GUI”

tada ! you have a big list to work through.

FreePBX but don’t use 1.4 with a GUI.

Djweeks:

But what are the reasons that you discourage to use FreePBX with *1.4?

Also, I shall be glad what are the merits of *v1.4 over *v1.2?

Thanks!

It’s allways better to learn asterisk “the real way” as aopposed to using a GUI. GUI’s limit you to what the one that set it up had in mind. As far as the diffrences from 1.2 to 1.4 is SIP-B and I believe better T.38 support.

I’ve been using FreePBX… the only disadvantage I have with it is the fact it tends to make a mess of the config files and its harder to trace what it is exactly doing when it does it.

The biggest advantage is Im starting to figure out just how it is you do all of that stuff while Free PBX generates the code.

Once I trace all of that information down… I’m likely to trash it.
