Hi All,
I’m new to Asterisk, specifically Asterisk@Home. I’ve read through the forums here and seen mentioned a few times that it is not recommended to modify the .conf files directly.
Thus my question(s)/requirements:
I’m attempting to “share” an Asterisk@Home server between multiple departments at our office. Specifically, I need to be able to seperate these departments via their extensions. Now I know this needs to be done with context configuration but how do I do that via the AMP(freePBX) interface?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
what, specifically, are you trying to do? freepbx will let you have custom app fields in some of the screens (like inbound DIDs, etc…) where you can give a special context and the call is routed there…
Hi,
In a nutshell. I need the various departments to have their own extension numbers and/or range of numbers and I need to control access from the various users in the various departments. I’ve got outgoing calls via our VOIP peering partner and PSTN lines working but the problem is any extention I add has “access” to these services. I need to prevent/allow access according to the rights of the various departments and the respective users.
Hope I’m making sense
Thanks.
