This link (voip-info.org/wiki/index.php … isco%20POE) has instructions for creating a patch cable that will allow pre-standard Cisco PoE phones to work with standard PoE switches. It’s necessary to reverse a couple of pairs.
The questions is, does anybody know if this modified cable will allow the opposite scenario? Can I use this cable to power a standard PoE SNOM phone off of a old, pre-standard PoE Cisco switch?
I assume the answer is yes but I’d hate to fry a phone…
