Upgrading Asterisk

Hello All,

I am using elastix 2.5 with asterisk11.17 and centOS5, and want to upgrade to 11.18/11.19 and try yum not work.
I downloaded asterisk11-current.tar.gz, how can i do next?

I wouldn’t try to upgrade to any version that they don’t make available for you as a part of Asterisk. As you’re using something that uses Asterisk as an engine, and expects Asterisk to work in certain ways, upgrading on your own may not produce desirable results.
