I am currently running a version of Asterisk 1.6 and was wondering if, Securitywise, there were benefits of switching to Asterisk 1.8. I scan my Log from time to time and notice what I assume are people trying to break into my system various ways. I’ve done most of the hardening activities, authrejectalways, fail2ban, hardened passwords. Haven’t tried banning ip addresses from known bad areas of world.
I was wondering if Asterisk 1.8/Freepbx had any benefits in this area…
I don’t see anybody actually accessing my system, so I’m wondering if I should care or try to do anything.
