Asterisk 1.8 LTS or Asterisk 11 LTS?

Hi,

I am planning to setup an Asterisk PBX from scratch.
I saw there are two LTS versions, 1.8 and 11.

Am I right thinking it makes more sense to install version 11 LTS since it is more recent? Any reason why it would be more advisable to go with 1.8 rather than the greatest and latest?

Howdy,

The release of 11’s gone pretty well. Going the 1.8 route gives you less features and less time for bug fixes. If you’re starting anew, might as well start with the latest.
