Problem with SIP Trunk

I have a PBX Asterisk and also a pair of SIP Lines wich I am using to make the external calls.

The problem is the next:

sometimes i can make the external calls and the message in the Asterisk cli is “Ringing”.

But sometimes i try to make a external call and the message in the Asterisk cli is:

– Called trunk_sip/1001
– SIP/trunk_sip-b7706c40 is making progress passing it to SIP/1020-b7700468

and i listen the tone like if the line was ocuped (“beep beep beep…”)

With the WireShark I see the next:

when the call courses correctly: “180 ringing”

when the call courses wrongly: “183 session progress, with session description”

I don’t know why sometimes I can course the external calls and sometimes not. If somebody can help me i will be very gratefull.

Progress and ringing are coming from the downstream system.

Progress means that the downstream system wants to supply tones and/or messages itself, so if you are getting beeps they are from that downstream system and you need to ask its support people what they mean.
