PRI Timing

Hi All,

  1. Is it possible to see if the far end of a PRI connection is requesting timing?
  2. Does IAX2 timing play a role in the PRI timing of an Asterisk box? In other words, if I have an IAX2 trunk receiving timing from the far end and I have my PRI interfaces setup to generate timing: span=1,0,0 will the timing be synchronized from the far end of the IAX2 channel?

Negative. Generally the side that’s the Network side is the side that’s providing timing though. It’d be incorrect for the CPE side to provide timing to the Network.

Timing that’s used to drive IAX2 timing, for a remote IAX2 trunk that’s slaved to a PRI does not affect the PRI timing of the local machine.
