Outgoing Caller ID Changing

Hi,

I’ve setup VOIP GSM Gateways in my country and the country’s gsm network does not allow me to hide numbers. So someone suggested to make my Gateways call the PBX and route the call to the destination through the PBX. And that the PBX can alter the outgoing number. I guess Asterisk can do this. But I need someone to help me accomplish this. Someone please help.

Yes asterisk can do this however your upstream provider must also allow you to set the caller ID as well. Pretty much what you would do is set up asterisk to recieve calls from where ever and then use the setCallerID command to change the caller ID.
