No Playback on D40 Visual Voicemail

I just completed DPMA config and have a Digium D40 phone provisioned from Asterisk 11.9 install.

While testing the visual voicemail app, everything seems to work, except when I press “Play” on the phone to playback a voicemail, the following screen doesn’t playback anything.

Am I missing any specific configuration to playback voicemails?

After looking at Asterisk logs, I saw the following error:

  • Peer ‘XXX’ is trying to register, but not configured as host=dynamic

Although the phone was working properly for calls, etc., adding the “host=dynamic” line in sip.conf solved the playback problem with visual voicemail.
