I just started with Asterisk, but I wanted the Windows version so I downloaded AsteriskWin32, but when I look at the rest of the AsteriskWin32 stuff out there, it looks like it has been abandoned. Is this true?
Short answer: yes.
The Windows version uses a version of Asterisk that ceased to be supported a few years ago.
Windows versions are never going to handle real hardware, or anything that needs good timing sources.
The Windows version relies on simulating Unix under Windows.
Thanks for getting back to me. I’m a (most happy in) .Net programmer, I was hoping to be able to tinker with the Asterisk AGI thru .Net, is that sill possible?
I suppose I’ve got three choices, Mono (any good?), good ol WCF, or learn a (yet another) new language
