I am trying to install Asterisk ( version 16 ) on a vitual machine. Having installed, i found out that the “SIP.conf” is missing . what might be the most probable cause behind this ?
The most probable cause is that it is actualy present, but called sip.conf.
If that was a typo in your question, the probably cause is that you are using chan_pjsip, but still trying to load chan_sip, in which case the error is harmless.
Otherwise the cause is that you havenj’t configured the system.
make samples will install specimen versions, but you will need to configure them.
@saket.shandilya i would recommend to make a fresh install, and as @david551 says, make samples.
Assuming that youre doing a correct installation of it.
