Hello, we’re seeing a strange problem when sending faxes using Asterisk and spandsp. For the most part it works fine, however sometimes faxes fail due to missing parts of the audio.
Here’s a chart of the audio, with the short missing bits labelled:
The server does not show high CPU or resource load at any time when the fax is being sent. It’s bare metal, not a virtual machine. This audio is outbound from the Asterisk server, not the audio Asterisk is receiving. We’ve tried using T.38 in the past but it’s even less reliable than G711 to the peer.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance!
