Linux program to record .wav for asterisk -not audacity

Anyone knows any program in Linux that can record an audio file:
8000 Hz, 16 bits, Mono?

Because I´ve been trying Audacity and I can´t record with that characeristics.

I have Ubuntu.

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi

As I also need to make gsm files I use nch wavepad www.nch.com.au running in wine on ubuntu 9.04 and it works great

Sorry I meant DreamLinux 3.0, not ubuntu…

Should still work ok with wine on that as they are both debian based

Ian

sorry but what´s wine?

thks!

Wine is a translation layer (a program loader) capable of running Windows applications on Linux and other POSIX compatible operating systems. Windows programs running in Wine act as native programs would, running without the performance or memory usage penalties of an emulator, with a similar look and feel to other applications on your desktop.

Thanks to everyone.
In the end I installed WavePad in another PC with Windows cause it didn´t work well in DreamLinux.

Thanks a lot!
