IVR prompts are preceded by a silence period of 2 - 5 second

Hi Everyone,

I have built a * ivr.

When moving from one ivr prompt to another after the caller hits a touch on his/her phone, there is a 2 - 5 sec silence period before asterisk starts talking again.

I have checked my prompt files (.gsm files) do not have that silence in them, so am a bit stuck at finding what causes them and then suppress them.

Those silences cause some callers to drop the line as they think the other party is not any more available.

How to get rid of those 2 - 5 sec silences periods?
