Interoperability Hipath 4000 rev 1 and Asterisk

I will want to implement asterisk in my company to use SIP wifi phones.
What i will need to use hipath 4000 and asterisk?
E1 card or other?

ideally it woudl work like this- you set up a SIP trunk between hipath system and *. When hipath user wants to call a wifi phone, they dial its exten. hipath routes call over SIP trunk to * which sends it to the wifi phone.

OTOH if the hipath speaks sip then you dont need *, just register the phone straight to the hipath…

so failling that, yeah a PRI is what you need. Run the PRI from asterisk to the hipath and route the call accordingly.
