How to edit the email that Asterisk sends out when a voicema

Is there a way to edit the email that Asterisk sends out when a voicemail is left? I would like to shorten it up instead of having that whole paragraph. The reason is that I have several customers that send their voicemail notices to their Verizon Wireless phones which have a 150 character limit in their text messages.

Here is an example:

Current

Dear (User):

Just wanted to let you know you were just left a 0:15 long message (number 1) in mailbox 603 from (number), on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 02:00:05 PM so you might want to check it when you get a chance. Thanks!

Mailbox 603

From: (number)

it is in /etc/asterisk/vm_email.inc

I’ve searched my entire harddrive but cannot find the file?
there are not *.inc files inside /etc/asterisk/ only the *.conf files

where is the template for the email being set?

Hi Its in voicemail.conf

I think some of the gui’s put it in a included file.

Its not in the voicemail.conf, there are no includes in the file.

other suggestions?

:unamused:

It’s in voicemail.conf.

You want to change the parameters of emailsubject, and emailbody.
