[HELP] generating voiemail outside asterisk

Hi,

I am currently doing a project using Asterisk. I have the basic PBX running using Zap channels. What I would like to do is generate a voicemail and put it in a user’s [extension’s] mailbox without having called in.

I have looked in the directory where voicemail is stored and found that it generates a text file along with the voicemail. If i try to store a voice [gsm or wav format] file Asterisk refuses.
Any ideas?

what’s the error message you get from * ?

what is the spec of the file you’re saving ? i think * insists on 8000 mono files.

edit : just checked, 8kHz 16-bit mono files
