Have Asterisk Server but how do I get a phone number?

I installed the Asterisk Server and can use the web based interface but I have no idea how to get a phone number for the server. Do I have to buy one?

Yes, although, in some countries it may be possible to get ones that are funded by the caller. You will generally have to pay for outgoing access.
