Ext. 5555 does't work

Hi,

If we create an extension with number 5555, it does not work. It neither can make calls nor can receive calls. !!!
Does any body encounter this problem?
Any solutions or work around?

Regards,

Please show us your sip.conf extension.conf and the cli output.

I will send them as soon as possible.

Meanwhile I want to say this could be tested very easily on any asterisk based IP-PBX.
Just create an extension numbered 5555 and call it.

I have found that by default 5555 is reserved for conference room. I don’t know how this default could be modified.
I need 5555 to be a simple extension.

Regards,

It’s not testable for the community as - probably in some sample files it may be used for a conference room - but usually these sample-files are used for learning but not included in productive environments.
That’s why we’ll indeed need Your running config-files to assist You further.

I will send them as soon as possible.

No, by default, 5555 is not reserved for a conference room. It’s your dialplan that’s pushing you there.

Please note that I am using Elastix 1.6.0.2. It is basicaly same as Asterisk

This is my sip.con

#include sip_general_additional.conf

;sip_general_custom.conf is the proper file location for placing any sip general
;options that you might need set. For example: enable and force the sip jitterbuffer.
;If these settings are desired they should be set the sip_general_custom.conf file.
;
; jbenable=yes
; jbforce=yes
;
;It is also the proper place to add the lines needed for sip nat’ing when going
;through a firewall. For nat’ing you’d need to add the following lines:
; nat=yes , externip= , localhost= , and optionally fromdomain= .
;
#include sip_general_custom.conf

;sip_nat.conf is here for legacy support reasons and for those that upgrade
;from previous versions. If you have this file with lines in it please make
;sure they are not duplicated in sip_general_custom.conf, if so remove them
;from sip_nat.conf as sip_general_custom.conf will have precedence.
#include sip_nat.conf

;sip_registrations_custom.conf is for any customizations you might need to do to
;the automatically generated registrations that FreePBX makes.
;
#include sip_registrations_custom.conf
#include sip_registrations.conf

; These files should all be expected to come after the [general] context
;
#include sip_custom.conf
#include sip_additional.conf

;sip_custom_post.conf If you have extra parameters that are needed for a
;extension to work to for example, those go here. So you have extension
;1000 defined in your system you start by creating a line 1000 in this
;file. Then on the next line add the extra parameter that is needed.
;When the sip.conf is loaded it will append your additions to the end of
;that extension.

#include sip_custom_post.conf

That does include any calls to MeetMe or ConfBridge. That dialplan includes two other files:

#include extensions_additional.conf
#include extensions_custom.conf

Your sip.conf also includes lots of files. So you need to find the peer that you’re doing the dialing with and see what dialplan context it’s supposed to be part of.

Regards,

What’s the text of sip_general_additional.conf?

Have you tried the Elastix forums? They’re the ones that put this dialplan together; it’s not an Asterisk issue that 5555 is mapped to some application called CBMySQL (which isn’t even an application that’s distributed with Asterisk).

Elastix sells support:
elastix.org/index.php/en/subscriptions.html

  1. This looks like a FreePBX GUI question, not an Asterisk one.

  2. You need find the CBMySQL call in the files included from extensions.conf.

  3. CBMySQL seems to be a third party plugin, from a developer that no longer exists.

Dear malcolmd,

I am wondering where this mapping is done (5555 to CBMySQL)
It must be in a .conf file. I have examined all files in /etc/asterisk, but there is nothing about 5555 ! :confused:
I have tried Elastix forums. No response until now.

This is sip_general_additional.conf

It doesn’t have to explicitly be “5555,” it could be any dial pattern that takes you to the CBMySQL application.

Thank you very much for grep hint.
