codec_dahdi reports no /dev/dahdi/transcode

Asterisk reports codec_dahdi.c:578 find_transcoders: failed to open /dev/dahdi/transcode

I’ve verified that the directory does not exist. I’ve re-installed dahdi-linux complete with the same result.

My environment uses the TDM410P with VPMADT032 hardware echo canceller on board.

I’ve seen that advise that this error can be ignored or negated by not loading dahdi.so which seems inappropriate in my case.

Can the error be safely ignored?

It should only be of concern if the cards have hardware transcoding support. That is a basic card, so I doubt that it does.

Yes, that can be ignored. codec_dahdi is used by the wctc4xxp TC400/TCE400 cards.

Cheers.

Malcolm: my thanks again
