Change default audio extension/format for playback

If I have vm-intro.gsm and vm-intro.wav in the sounds directory (ie same filename apart from extension), and play vm-intro, asterisk will by default play the gsm file. If I move the gsm file aside it will pick up the .wav file and play that.

Is there a way I can change this default so that it will try .wav first, and then .gsm?

And don’t worry, I do know that the real answer is “don’t have .wav and .gsm files in your sounds directory”
I’m curious whether I can change the behaviour.

thanks,
Neil

You are using gsm codec for voice coding, right? As far as I know, * shuld use file which doesn’t need transcoding.
