Can't record any messages with Asterisk@Home

This is very odd. When a caller is prompted to leave a msg the prompt says somthing like “please speak after the tone” then the tone is played but then goes on to say “press 1 to… etc” it doesn’t give the caller a chance to speak, in otherwords there is no pause for the caller to record thier message.
This is also the case when trying to record a message via the message center.
Any ideas anyone?

I remember seeing something similar in AAH 2.2 when I first installed. Check the /var/asterisk directory and make sure the permissions are all correct and the appropriate directory exists…

thanks, that dir was missng so I created it and set the permissions and now it seems ok
