Voicemail Greeting

I’m having a problem with a fresh install of Asterisk on Ubuntu 9.10. I used Synaptic to perform the install.
When I try to change my busy or unavailable greeting, Comedian mail says it was successful. Looking in /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/1234 - I can confirm that the wav files are created, and when downloaded, do indeed reflect what I recorded. The problem is that the caller always hears: “Please leave your message after the tone. When done, hang up or press the pound key.”

I can’t seem to figure this one out. Someone suggested it could be because of ODBC settings, and to recompile and deselect in the menuselect option, but again, I didn’t compile it from source - rather - I’m using a deb package from Synaptic. Not sure how this could be the problem, but that’s the only thing I’ve found so far.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
