Beginner need guidance on asterisk

i am currently a beginner with limited knowledge on asterisk. i would like to develop a web page that acts as an admin that can configure the asterisk server. the first step is to download asterisk 1.4.0. then set AJAM. then work on the code on the web page?

anyone can point me to the right directions? or do you hv any coding examples on how to integrate the web page and the asterisk?

But why re-invent the wheel? Unless your doing something very custmoized and specific… if not better.

Free PBX uses a web interface to control Asterisk.

There is also AsteriskNOW and Druid + others.

Yeah I noticed that… starting to have second thoughts about freePBX.
