I am new to the asterisk. I just started learning how asterisk works. I want to make an application where a i need to create an outbound call to one of the numbers through asterisk server.
Can any one please explain how the asterisk server works for outbound calls.

What do you mean by how does it dial out ? Are you looking to set up outbound calling in asterisk or to have a service that will connect to asterisk and make calls ?

I am looking to have a service that will connect to asterisk and make calls and leave a message and hang up once the callee lifts the call.
I also have a question if we can deal with the characteristics of the call. ie., can we if the called number is busy, or not in use, have some congestion problem, etc.
