Asterisk Line TOO Clear?

We’re using a Digium TE121 card with the VPMOCT032 echo cancellation module.

Here’s a good one…

The complaint that I got from one user is that the line is TOO clear, and when there is nobody talking, the other party thinks the line might be disconnected or put on mute.

Is there a way to increase the background noise?

Hello,
Try to use more sensitive microphone that can capture voice from a distance.

There’s no straight forward way to do that; and, off-hand, I’m not sure what under-the-hood knobs might be available for that.

Support (digium.com/support) might have some suggestions.
