Why i can not download the last version from cvs?

Hello…

i want to download the last version of asterisk 1.4 from cvs

i do
export CVSROOT=:pserver:anoncvs@cvs.digium.com:/usr/cvsroot
and cvs login

but the login anoncvs doesn’t work.

do you know why ?

and what is the best version for installing asterisk 1.4 ? the trunk ? the stable ? another ? what is the difference between these versions ?

Digium stopped using CVS a long time ago. now they use SVN.
