What Cisco IP Phones (other than the Cisco 7960) have been proven to work with Asterisk?

7905 is working great here in SIP firmware. Probably wont stick to it, we love our Polycoms, but for a basic phone its great (and a loud ringer which is important in our plant area).

hi … sorry to be a bit dim but i’m just getting in to this and can really see some great opportunities to use this system.

can you tell me what you mean when you say you’re using the cisco phones as SIP? I always thought they were licensed for use with call manager… is this rubbish?

also has anyone tried the wireless ip phone - the 7920?

You can get a SIP firmware image for the phones. I have one working with Asterisk on my desk as I write this. It’s a major pain to get your hand on the image though and quite a chore to get working correctly.
