I’m still learning asterisk configs.
Recently, I restarted the asterisk system and it all of a sudden started emailing voicemails. This may have been setup before but I have previously rebooted the system without voicemail to emails working. I want to disable this functionality but leave the structure in place so I can turn it back on with little effort.
What would be the best way to do this?
TIA!
is it an option to turn off sendmail or another MTA you are using?
Or blocking the emailaddress that sends the mails.
But it isn’t a nice solution of course. Better is configuring your voicemailaccounts not to send mails.
see voicemail.conf
I have not tried it but you could add this to the voicemail.conf
This will leave e-mail working on the system, but should disable the ability to send from voicemail.

Nice!
Thx guys!
I also have this in the voicemail.conf. I’m wondering if I can just change it to ‘no’(?)
sendvoicemail=yes ; Context to Send voicemail from [option 5 from the advanced menu]
; if not listed, sending messages from inside voicemail will not be
; permitted
I believe that this option allows you to compose a message to another voicemail user from within your mailbox and is not related to sending the e-mail of the message.
