for some reason Asterisk 1.2.4-BRIstuffed-0.3.0-PRE-1h does not records voicemail.
after few seconds it stops with this message:
WARNING[14526]: app.c:645 ast_play_and_record: No audio available on SIP/6-3043??
what can be the reason and how to fix it?
it is not working with SJ Phone (codecs GSM, A/U-LAW), but with hardware phone (PrimeWorx P100, codec G729) it works fine.
strange 
does SJPhone have a voice detection function? you might try turning that off, if the phone isn’t transmitting audio, perhaps the voicemail app thinks the line is dead.
we’ve had to turn off all VAD features on our softphones to keep everything running smoothly, and IIRC, asterisk doesn’t like VAD to be running on the endpoint.
it has such option - “Do not send silence”, but even if it’s off the problem remains.
i do not see other options related to VAD.
maybe it is not configurable.
another problem with SJPhone is that I can’t input password for VoicemailMain with DTMF, so something is definitely wrong with this phone.

why sip.conf?
configuration is the same for all accounts and hardware phones are working fine while Sjphone not.
what option(s) you think in sip.conf can have influence?
