Voicemail boxes Needing help please

I am wondering where I can get any information to about smdi notify or does any one have any thoughts for me to try as I am running Asterisk 1.8.2.1. I want to have 2 groups of voicemail boxes and send the smdi message out on one port for one group and maybe send it out on a different port for another group am i even in the ball park with this thought?

as reading this it sounds like you can do that

; If no Asterisk voicemail context is specified, “default” will be assumed.
