Unable to connect to remote asterisk ( missing asterisk.ctl?

Hi Guys,

I upgraded from fc3 to fc4 and asterisk 1.2.0 to 1.2.1, basically i reinstalled & recompile everything. but i’m pretty much struck with this problem.

Whenever i attempt to asterisk -r i get the following error msg:

Unable to connect to remote asterisk (does /var/run/asterisk.ctl exist?)

Funny thing is asterisk.tl do exist @ /var/run/asterisk as x-special/socket file. I thought perhaps there’s some leftover junks with 1.2.0 so i clear out the following diirectories:

/etc/asterisk/
/usr/lib/asterisk/modules
/var/lib/asterisk/
/var/spool/asterisk/
/var/log/asterisk

make clean
make
make install

Unfortunately, i still have the above problem, would anyone enlighten me?

would anyone please advice me?

do ps -auwx and see if asterisk is actually running,

What happens if you run asterisk -vvvvvvvvvgc ?

try changing in /etc/asterisk.conf pid or run path to correct path
