TDM400 card detected, but not module (wctdm error -5)

hey,

i’ve been having a really frustrating problem with this tdm400p card with 1 FXO module installed in slot 1.

The card is detected by the computer, but it cannot “see” the FXO module.

The card is shown in the output of lspci:

and this is the relevant output from dmesg when the drivers are loaded:

Zapata Telephony Interface Registered on major 196 Zaptel Version: 1.4.11 Zaptel Echo Canceller: MG2 ali15x3_smbus 0000:00:11.0: ALI15X3_smb region uninitialized - upgrade BIOS or use force_addr=0xaddr ali15x3_smbus 0000:00:11.0: ALI15X3 not detected, module not inserted. here is my zaptel.conf

fxsks=1 loadzone=uk defaultzone=uk

and finally the output from ztcfg:
mark@oldbox:~$ sudo ztcfg -vvv

Zaptel Version: 1.4.11

ZT_CHANCONFIG failed on channel 1: No such device or address (6)
i heard that there might have been irq conflicts with the card, and have made sure it is on it’s own irq, but that hasn’t helped.

i’ve tried the card in two machines, same problem. both have pci 2.2 5v 32bit slots.

i’ve tried the module in various slots on the card, and the card in various pci slots. i’ve also tried another module.

i’m using debian etch and zaptel 1.4 compiled from source, also tried the debian zaptel 1.2 package to no effect.

can anyone shed some light on what the problem might be?

thanks

PS. full output from lspci and dmesg
