Sip registration sometimes lost

Hi,

I’m using BudgetPhone.nl as VoIP network provider (SIP).

Sometimes Asterisk looses SIP registration on one of the accounts. (sometimes days, sometimes weeks). I already set registrationattempts=o (unlimited). To get Asterisk to reregister I have to reload chan_sip.

I can not see any related thing in the logs, so it very difficult to find out what’s wrong. Here’s my sip.conf and part of Asterisk messages.

I hope this helps… I had the exact same problem using Switchvox AA350 and a Linksys WRV200. The registration ‘timed out’ messages occurred even while the system was working properly so I ignored them. After 3 consecutive nights where the system simply stopped making/receiving calls (citing intermittent registration failures) I decided to investigate and found out the problem was caused by the Linksys router.

On Friday night I upgraded the WRV200 firmware from 1.0.29 to 1.0.39 and the Switchvox system has worked flawlessly since. Not a single dropped call or a single error log entry.

Hi Mike,

Please let me know if the problem was solved by a router firmware upgrade. If not please specify the solution. I have the exact same problem.
