Remote voicemail indication

I have a remote user, registered to a Asterisk box that is local to them on their network. We use IAX to communicate with another Asterisk box.

All of their voicemail is collected and stored on the Asterisk box that is at a second location.

In the sip.conf there is a place for mailbox=xxx@context so that the end point connected to that Asterisk box knows what voicemail to look at for message waiting indication.

Is there a way to set the sip.conf ‘mailbox=’ to point to another (remote) Asterisk box for voicemail indications?

For example: mailbox=some_asterisk_server.com/xxxx@context

Or maybe: mailbox=xxxx@iax_context

i don’t get the issue - if the user is connecting to a local box, and their VM account is set up on that box, then they would be receiving VM indicators and all should be well.

are you attempting to store the VM on the central server but still have notifications delivered via the remote box?

“>>>are you attempting to store the VM on the central server but still have notifications delivered via the remote box?<<<”

Yes.

Did you find a solution?
