Polycom delay in voice when making outbound calls

Ubuntu 4.2.
Asterisk 1.4.19

We have about 20 users that can dial each other (intercom). But when our users try to make an outbound call, there is about 3-5 second delay until the person on the line can hear us.

I can post any and all configs needed.

Should I be looking for something in particular in the phone1.cfg file?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

to solve this problem I needed to turn off call progress in zapata.conf
