Peer-to-peer conferencing

Hi everyone,

I’m wondering wether or not it is possible to perform peer-to-peer conferencing with asterisk ? What I’ve read suggest directrtpsetup won’t help here…

Peer to peer conferencing has to be done by the phone. If the phone implements the conference bridge, there is no reason why asterisk cannot optimise out the RTP path, but Asterisk cannot instruct the phone to do this, and, if it provides the conference bridge, it must stay in circuit.
