PBX System using Asterisk

Hi !!
I need to setup an PBX system using asterisk server. Please let me know do I need mandatory the hardware to setup PBX system.
Using this PBX system I need to call soft phone to any other service provider phone.

However please let me know if hardware required do I need service provider registration as well.
Please guide me I am new to this area.

You can start with:

For outgoing calls - you will need outgoing provider, for incoming calls - also incoming provider who will lease you numbers and calls to that numbers will come to your Astersik.
