Patching Asterisk

Hi,

Can some help me with patching asterisk never done it before.

I have Asterisk 1.4.2 installed and was wanting to apply this patch

asterisk-1.4.2-patch

I am not sure if I am correct but I believe that asterisk-1.4.2-patch contains all the current patches for 1.4.2. If that’s not correct can you tell me what it is.

Also what is the difference between asterisk-1.4-current.tar.gz and asterisk-1.4.2.tar.gz

Most likely you don’t need the patch. That patch file is to bring pre-1.4.2 versions of 1.4 code to 1.4.2. It won’t hurt to run

from the source directory. It’ll probably tell you the code is already current.

asterisk-1.4-current.tar.gz and asterisk-1.4.2.tar.gz are the same until the next 1.4 release comes out.
